Winter Roof Leak / Ice Damming
As a result of recent winter snow storm circumstances; many home and building owners will experience ice damming.
Ice damming can result in water ingress mirroring roof leaks on a building’s interior.
Cause: When gutters and downpipes are frozen solid on sloping roofs; and roof drains on flat roofs are frozen; water can back up as a result. (On many of such events we attend, it is often found that the drainage system is blocked with debris and the drains are solidly blocked.
If you have interior damage resulting from ice damming; you should contact your insurer and or broker to ensure you are covered for this peril.
Due to safety requirements; AVENUE ROAD ROOFING® can only service such perils when weather conditions permit safe access. Due to demand; it is our priority to deal with previous and current clients on a first come first service basis.
Snow ands ice removal, is a chargeable service as it is not a warranty issue.
To Note: is that if your roof has exhibited no leaks during rain events or milder weather circumstances, it is not an issue of workmanship or warranty.

Tip: If you observe a bulge in ceiling areas, protect the floor with a tarp or plastic, and poke a hole in the ceiling to drain water into a bucket so it does not accumulate.
