These historical north Toronto neighbourhoods have been a familiar work place for AVENUE ROAD ROOFING® since 1974.

South of York Mills Rd. and East of Yonge St.; the historic neighbourhood of Hoggs Hollow is located. This prestigious neihbourhood has many examples of cedar shake and shingle roofs that we had replaced back in the 1980’s and since that decade. Architecture found in this neighbourhood harkens back to the 1930’s, with many homes having been built in the colonial style, and others having a country estate appeal. One will also find examples of modern architecture involving mansard slopes and flat roofs.

Moving north and eastward; the area of St. Andrew which is bordered to the north by the 401 and extending east toward the Windfields community; which runs east past Leslie St. to the Don River; this community represents an eclectic array of homes built between the 1930’s to the 1960’s and the 1970’s as one travels east toward and past Bayview Ave. The modern community of Winfield originated from the farmlands sold off by the famous Canadian horse breeder E.P. Taylor, back in the late 1930’s. Unlike the more traditional style of homes built in St. Andrew; the homes constructed in Windfield represented the modern style of home construction of that time.

Windield has a unique blend of architectural styles which include everything from two storey Tudor style, Colonial style, modern mansard/flat roofed homes and a variety of bungalow styles. There is literally not one of these style of homes that we have not re-roofed over the past fifty years.

While the Windfield neighbourhood was originally built as an affordable family friendly community, it has evolved into one of the mot sought after and expensive neighbourhoods which are still a family oriented community, and which is surrounded by amenities for shopping, schools, and places of worship.

The proximity to highway 401 and the Don Valley Parkway, and to access the southern areas of the city via Bayview Ave., make these neighbourhoods desirable for many Toronto professionals and their families.

We are proud to note that we have literally completed work on every street in these communities numbering in the hundreds if not thousands of homes in the vicinity.

Common work for us in the community involved re-roofing in fiberglass laminate shingles, flat roofing, cedar works, carpentry, skylight retrofits, and the list goes on as we have grown with the communities over the past fifty years.
