Aluminum eavestrough systems are used in many buildings and homes because they are economical, offer a wide variety of color options, require no painting and can be color matched with aluminum fascia cladding and soffit cladding materials.

It’s important that aluminum trough systems are:

  • Sloped to achieve correct drainage
  • Constructed with mitered corner joints (not pre-fabricated corner pieces which have three seams, not one, and as a result are more prone to leakage)
  • Secured properly using hidden brackets (which provide strength to the trough and a neat seamless appearance)

Avenue Road Roofing is an expert in eavestrough installation and is one of the very few roofers which has specially equipped trucks to run off any seamless length, an advantage because there are fewer joints and hence less opportunity for leaks.

We install not only traditional 5” troughs, but also 6” troughs, required on larger homes or homes with steep roofs. You can order:

  • K-style in 5” and 6”
  • Standard or galvanized
  • OGEE
  • Copper in K-style, OGEE or custom-style rolled form
  • In-laid gutter

In short, if it can be made out of metal, we can do it. For example, we can do a copper conductor box, stamped with attractive designs, to control flow of water.

Other eavestrough systems

You can choose from a variety of eavestrough systems with varying costs and product qualities. Some systems are better suited to older buildings, while others are ideal for applications requiring more strength than a standard aluminum eavestrough. What about custom-designed systems? Avenue Road Roofing does them for both residential homes and commercial buildings.

Extruded coloured steel eaves

  • available in heavier gauges than standard aluminum eavestroughs
  • used commonly in commercial applications or on homes with steep roof pitches that shed large water volumes and hence require heavy-duty construction

Traditional galvanized trough systems

  • high strength, but requires more maintenance than aluminum or coloured steel
  • more expensive than aluminum, but less expensive than copper
  • once commonly used, now typically found on older homes
  • like copper, requires soldering of corner joints and connecting sections
  • should be allowed to oxidize or be cleaned before paint is applied

Rigid gutter screening products

  • adds strength to the system
  • helps minimize the need for repeated cleanings. (ALUREX makes gutter screens to Avenue Road Roofing specifications).

In-laid gutters

  • located at the base of a roof slope
  • require custom fabrication out of galvanized metal or copper
  • expert construction and installation a must to ensure proper drainage

Cleaning of eavestroughs

Admit it. Just about the last job you want to do is clean out your eavestroughs. You have better things to do and you probably don’t have the right equipment or training, which means you are at risk of suffering a fall.

So why not give the job to the professionals at Avenue Road Roofing? We have the training, equipment and insurance required to do the job right. Or go for a more permanent solution by having us install a gutter-guard system.
